Finding the right salon for the family can be a frizzy affair. Tokyoite mothers may wonder where on Earth they can get their hair coiffed to perfection while their kids’ are tended to with equal care. But worry no more – top salon Sin Den allows you to let your hair down.

Since its conception in 1994, Sin Den has made its name as one of the top salons in Tokyo. Assisting in the name-making is the talented staff, consisting of friendly, innovative professional stylists who ensure flawless cuts through thorough consultation with customers. Heading the team is Fabio, Sin Den’s director whose work has graced various fashion magazines and events.

What has beckoned many to Sin Den over the years surely is its unique style. Though its location in the chic Jingumae area speaks volumes enough, the salon’s artistic, zen-like atmosphere are evocative of the Sin Den flair: Elegant and simple. The salon’s professionalism in executing its artistry – be it in cutting, coloring, or perming –  is highly sought after.

We took our models – two pairs of mothers and daughters with varying hair – to Sin Den, where they were greeted warmly and promptly tended to by the salon’s newest stars, Roberto and Chihaya. And after briefly speaking with the mothers about what look they and their children wanted to achieve, the experience began.

Severine and Juliette

Our first mother to take the chair was the brunette Severine, whose hair Roberto catered to as her daughter Juliette sat and watched close by. She emerged with a classic wavy ‘do reminiscent of Jaclyn Smith, one well-suited for her.

Fiery red-haired Juliette, at the hands of Fabio, was given a cute bob with an inward curl. It’s an age-appropriate style she can wear proudly at school and at play.

Veronique and Mathilde

Mathilde’s short blonde hair matched her mum Veronique’s, and the girl wanted it just a bit shorter. Chihaya trimmed Mathilde’s locks, styling it into a sleek, youthful bob.

Those words would later also describe Veronique’s hair, which Fabio handled with precision. The cut was feminine and refreshing, giving the mother one more reason to smile.

If you’re looking for the perfect cut in Tokyo with equally great service, then Sin Den is the place to go.
