Can a four-year-old cook and play? Naaah!  Well, four-year-old kiddie chef Marina proved us all wrong when she recently hosted a cooking party for little friends at home.  With the help of Tokyu Hands Shibuya store’s super kitchen gadgets,  hands-on Marina-chan took possession of the kitchen while mum Anna took a back seat.

 

Crepes

Ingredients  (makes 8 crépes)

2 eggs

200 ml fresh milk or water

200 grams flour

Confectioner’s sugar (powder sugar)

 

Fillings:

Fresh strawberries

Fresh or frozen blueberries

Whipped cream (optional)

Ice cream (optional)

 

Step 1 Beat eggs well.

Step 2 Add fresh milk or water and mix in flour.  Stir continuously until lumps disappear. 

Step 3 Heat crépe maker and pour the batter on. 

Step 4 Set finished crépe aside to cool, fold into triangular shape and top with strawberries, blueberries, and a dash of confectioner’s sugar.  

Step 5 Serve immediately with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream, as desired. 

 

Corn, cucumber, and tomato salad

 Ingredients

4 pieces of fresh corn   

3 cucumbers  

2 fresh tomatoes  

Sesame (or goma)  

Salad dressing  

 

Step 1 Shave the corn from the cob.

Step 2 Slice the cucumbers and tomato.

Step 3 Mix everything, season with sesame salad dressing, and presto!
