Stars welcome Roberto Cavalli to Japan
 
November 1 was a big night for Roberto Cavalli.  The Italian fashion guru flew to Tokyo to celebrate the grand opening of his very first flagship store in  Minami Aoyama .  The red carpet event that started at 6 pm attracted a lot of media attention because a number of high profile celebrities were in attendance.
 
The star-studded night included TV personality and model Anna Umemiya, sports star Hidetoshi Nakata,  fashion models Jessica and Karen Michibata, Italian TV personality Girolamo Panzetti, Indy racers Andre Lotterer, J.P. de Oliveira, French celebrity Francoise Morechand, and many more.  Famous Japanese celebrities Natsuki Okamoto and Yu Yamada were also among the well wishers.

Kindergarten in Thailand Gets its Very First Computer

Noongyasai Kindergarten in rural Thailand was fortunate to receive its very first computer bought from the donations made by the Middle School Student Council at Saint Maur International School.  The donations made by Saint Maur for years have done much to buy all the necessary equipment like photo copy machine, electric fans, learning tools such as books for the library, music instruments, sports shoes and other supplies.  Part of the donation was used to install a concrete floor and roof for the school’s outdoor cafeteria  and improve restroom facilities for preschoolers .  Social worker Fujiko Sanada overseeing the donations and project thanked Saint Maur students for helping improve the level of education at Noongyasai.
 
Vogue Fashion’s Night Out Japan
17 international Vogue editors came to Tokyo last month to support the flagging sales of fashion houses  as a result of the March 11 tsunami.  An event conceived by US Vogue editor Anna Wintour years ago, the Vogue Fashion Night Out’s objective is to create a positive mood, draw in crowds to the shops and drive sales for the designers and retailers.
