Chocolate Truffles in 9 easy steps

We know the pressure of being a mom. Not all moms have the luxury to take time off from the most important job in the world to do as she pleases. What better way to show appreciation than by surprising her with some sweet indulgence? Roll up your sleeves and try your hand in making these delicious chocolate truffles in 9 easy steps.

 

Ingredients

250 ml fresh cream,

250 ml fresh milk,

500g dark chocolate (about 70% cocoa solids),

120g butter, diced,

120g clear honey

 

Coating

cocoa powder, crushed KitKat chocolate fl ake bars,

 

1. Cut chocolate bars in pieces and put in a deep heatproof bowl with the diced butter and honey. Pour both creams into a medium saucepan. Heat gently for 5-6 minutes stirring slowly with a rubber scraper.

 

2. Strain the hot cream through a strainer onto the chocolate, butter and honey.

 

3. Continue to stir until the chocolate has melted…

 

4. …and the mixture is smooth.

 

5. Pour the mixture into a wide, shallow dish.

 

6. Cover and chill in the fridge for an hour or until firm.

 

7. Scatter your chosen coating(s) on separate plates.

 

8. Take the truffle mix out of the fridge and, using a teaspoon, scoop out a portion and shape into a sphere by quickly rolling it in your hands. (Do this quickly so that truffle does not melt in your hands.)

 

9. Toss the truffle in your preferred coating and arrange on a plate. Repeat with the rest. Place the truffl es on a tray and refrigerate until fi rm and ready to serve. Must be eaten within 2-3 days. Makes 70-80 truffles.
