Microsoft abandons smart bra project

By on December 17, 2013

Among the many high-tech projects submitted each year,  Microsoft has finally decided not to proceed with the smart bra. This underwear was to allow women to avoid emotional overload by controlling their stress levels. The wearable engineered to monitor emotional changes in women with the help of sensors, was aimed too at controlling comfort eating.

A prototype was developed by five scientists from Microsoft Research and researchers from the Universities of Rochester (United States) and Southampton ( England). Equipped with gyroscope, an electrocardiogram , an accelerometer , dermal sensors and a Bluetooth connection, it should alert women when the stress level was high to avoid emotional overload. The bra works with a smartphone application to provide maximum data.
