Weekend top grosser Frozen Beats Doraemon in sales

By on March 19, 2014

If  you had spotted a crowd of little people and adults on queue outside the theatres last weekend, that’s because  it was the opening of Disney’s new 3D Animation film, Frozen (Japanese title: Anna to Yuki no Jou or Anna and the Snow Queen).

When Disney puts on a show, you know it’s got “the punch”.   Frozen is the first non-Japanese film to hit the box office chart in 2014 with a whopping 986.4 million yen sales in only three days,  beating Doraemon, the most followed Japanese cartoon series (600 million yen).

Frozen is a fantastic comedy adventure voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel that is best watched than told. If you can put up with some action with mild rude humor (slapstick violence similar to Mickey Mouse’s classic style), then this is definitely the movie to watch.

Frozen is in two versions:  the 3D subtitled and 2D dubbed (Japanese dialogues).
