Monarch Cupcake

By on April 16, 2015

The cupcake trend has officially hit Tokyo.

Monarch is the latest addition to a string of mini cake bakers that joined the cupcake race. American by origin, European by taste and texture, the new cupcake house is hard to miss when you walk along the Takeshita dori.

The woman behind Monarch is Furva Saleem from London who comes from a family in the food business.  She believes that food shouldn’t just taste good but should also be visually appealing. Combining art and taste, Monarch opened its first shop in February this year.

The flavours: Chocolate Sundae (butter cream), Red Velvet (cream cheese frosting), Cookies and Cream, Rocky Road, Vanilla and Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Mocha, Carrot, Mint Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Coconuts, Lemon Sunshine, Strawberry and Cream, Sakura Berry Cheese cake, Lemon Berry, and more.

These three made it to our fav list:  Lemon Sunshine, Salted Caramel, White Chocolate Coconuts.
