The combined bullet train ride (from Tokyo station) and high-speed ferry will take you no more than 90 mins to the foot of Hatsushima island. Hatsushima island is located in Sagami bay and a part of Shizuoka prefecture.

Sarutobi

The HATSUSHIMA ISLAND RESORT is the place to be to get you in the ‘island vacation’ mood. There, you can enjoy a subtropical botanical garden, R-Asia’s heated pool, island pool, and Sarutobi. Sarutobi (literally translates to monkey jump), is a vacation activity popular across Europe called the ‘Zip slide’ where a user wearing a body harness, travels to and from zip lines connected to inclined cables via moving pulleys. It is a popular activity enjoyed by both the young and the old.

The 30-min to an hour of Sarutobi slide in- between the lush overgrown trees overlooking the Sagami bay area offers a feast for the eyes.

Next to all that are fun-filled activities in the charming island such as fishing, diving, and snorkeling for everyone from children to adults, to enjoy.

From Tokyo, take shinkansen to Atami station. From Atami Station to Atami Port Options:
10 mins by taxi from Atami Station Taxi fare ¥1,200
15 mins by bus – fare ¥230
Take the no. 7 bus (Izu Tokai bus or Izu Hakone bus) bound for Atami Port Korakuen from the big bus terminal at Atami station. Get off at Atami Port stop.
Departure hours: 20-min intervals between 8 am and 5 pm (example, 8 am, 8:20 am, 8:40 am) . Get on the ferry upon reaching Atami Port.
