A slice of Spain in Japan

By on July 10, 2015

Dreaming of a European summer vacation?

Did you know that you can have a mini version right here in Japan?

The Shima Spain Village is a theme park reminiscent of a typical resort in Southern Spain. Located in Ugata, the park is a 2-hour 40-min train ride from Kyoto station.

Quite a long trip from Tokyo you might say, but compared to a real 14-hour long haul flight to Europe, this is the closest you can get to a Spanish vacation with loads of wholesome family attractions and activities that will keep adults as well as kids entertained. If you will be traveling to Kyoto or Osaka, include a side trip to the park in your bucket list.

There are tons of fun rides, a Spanish mascot parade, Flamenco dance show at the plaza, authentic Spanish gourmet at its 19 restaurants and cafes, shopping arcades within the resort complex, as well as educational museums that will make the visit worthwhile.
