Taking a bus to Narita?

Up until January 31, 2020,  ACCESS NARITA’s 1,000-yen bus service from Ginza to Narita was the cheapest in town.

But after Access Narita merged with Tokyo Shuttle in February  2020, the service rebranded to “Airport Bus Tyo-NRT” and the price of a one-way bus ride per adult passenger has been adjusted to 1,300 yen.

That’s still a good deal and twice as cheap as the Airport Limousine bus fare from the city center to Narita airport. A one-way bus fare for elementary school-aged children is 650 yen per person and toddlers/preschoolers who sit on parent’s lap enjoy a free ride. An additional 650 yen applies only if they take a seat.

Travelers who get the first flight in the morning can usually expect a cleaner plane and, often, a cheaper ticket. That’s not the case for Airport Bus Tyo-Nrt.  Adults taking late night and early morning flights pay 2,600 yen and elementary school-aged children pay half (1,300 yen).

The total bus ride differs according to the terminal.  It takes about 62 minutes until Narita Airport’s Terminal 3, 65 minutes to Narita Airport’s  Terminal 2, and 70 minutes to Narita Airport’s  Terminal 1.
