Japan creates a cute talking, walking robot phone

By on October 5, 2015

Japan is unstoppable in its quest for world robot domination.

Sharp’s new Robohon, a robot and telephone in one, proves he’s more than a ‘Siri’. The word ‘Robohon’ is a portmanteau of ‘robot’ and ‘phone’ (pronounced and written in Japanese katakana as ‘hon’).

Apart from being cute, it does a number of worthy services, your family will want to own one.

Weighing only 390 grams and 19.5 cm tall, this mini robot has both WI-FI and LTE capabilities , equipped with a tiny two-inch screen on its back with built-in facial and voice recognition features. But don’t all smartphones have them as well ?  Some do, but these are one-of-a-kind robots and the good news is they’ll be out in 2016. Did I say Robohon can dance too?
