Xmobile calls its new house phone-looking mobile phone Sugoi Denwa (amazing phone) developed by Abit Corporation, a next generation communication tool developer.  Sugoi Denwa is not only a mobile phone but a router as well. It needs no cable wires to connect and uses up to 33 mb data a day.  The carry-anywhere phone currently sells for ¥35,000 (plus tax) and users can choose call plans available from ¥1,380 yen monthly.  Until mid December 2015, X mobile is offering its introductory ‘call plan’ rate at ¥980 a month.

Sugoi Denwa is a 3G device with up to 2Mbps max speed. Since you need a sim card to use it, telephone numbers start with 080,090, or 070.  It has mute, voice mail, address book, speed dial functions but can not reject calls and send/receive SMS messages.

The device comes with a sim card and an AC adapter but AA alkaline batteries  and lithium-ion battery (approx. ¥3,000) that are needed to use it, are sold separately.  The lithium-ion battery has up to 350 standby hours or continuous 8 talk hours.
