Should you fire your Roomba for the new Dyson 360 Eye?

After years of research and refinements, the Dyson 360 Eye unveiled in Tokyo a month ago is now available in Japan.

The new robotic vacuum cleaner with a built-in 45-degree panoramic lens on top of the device comes with 4 times more suction power than any other robot vacuums in the market.

But before you get excited, know that Dyson 360 Eye is expensive. The high-end, high-tech household helper sells for ¥149,000 (retail) and not without reason.

It took Dyson a total of 16 years to create and refine this amazing piece of R2-D2-looking robot. The self-navigating, heavy hitting robot marches 90 degrees around the house with its 360 degree vision sensor covering the entire floor in the most efficient way possible – picking up hair and dust from all surfaces (wood floor, tatami, rugs, carpets) including hard-to-reach areas. The robot comes with a killer app that allows user to program a cleaning schedule and cycles.

While Roomba 980 does map your living space internally, Dyson 360 Eye sends to your smartphone a data to let you know that it is doing its job with a high level of precision – even when you’re not at home. All future software updates are free.
