Self tying shoes

By on April 20, 2016

The name Hyper Adapt 1.0 sounds like some software version.  It’s not.

It’s Nike’s latest self-lacing sports shoes with a sensor tucked in the heels.

As you step in, your heel hits a sensor and the system will automatically tighten, a technique called ‘adaptive lacing’ developed by Nike. On the side of the shoe are two buttons that allow the wearer to tighten or loosen the laces.

This cool Nike pair with a Back-to-the-Futuresque design comes in white, black and gray and will hit US stores this spring.  To Nike fans in Tokyo eager to get their hands on a new pair – don’t get too excited just yet.  We won’t be seeing this in Japan stores until winter 2016.  Rumor has it that it won’t be cheap.  In the meantime, save up some money!
