Everyone knows Michael Jackson, yes?  But very few foreigners know about Teppanyaki Dante.

Located on a basement floor of a busy Akasaka building, it isn’t something you would easily spot. My husband and I came here for lunch. The staff was friendly and someone spoke English.

We were so hungry we had the Gourmet Lunch (¥3,500), a mix of shrimps, veggies, Miso steak, garlic fried rice and coffee. At the end of a meal, you get a free coffee but only if you came after 1 pm.

We’ve eaten Japanese steaks all over Tokyo in various price ranges but I have to say the meat quality here is one of the best and also reasonably priced.

The food quality, taste, price and service all make up for its dated interior.
