A 4-word song by Japanese comedian/singer makes it to Guinness World Records

screen-shot-2016-11-03-at-4-14-53-pmThe 4-word song PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen) that Japanese DJ/ comedian and singer Pikotaro (producer Daimaou Kosaka) wrote made it to the Guinness World Record as the shortest song ever written to hit the U.S. Billboard Hot Chart 100.

The clueless singer was given the award at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan in Tokyo last Friday.

Its popularity reached fever pitch last month after Justin Bieber tweeted the catchy, infectious tune reaching a total of 200 million views on several YouTube accounts.
