A New Capsule Hotel Opens Next Month at Fuji-Q Highland

Cabin & Lounge Highland Station Inn, located just a 1-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highlands, a theme park in Yamanashi prefecture, will be open for business from April 27 (Thu), 2017.

The capsule-style private room slightly more spacious than a standard capsule hotel, aims to please budget travelers.  The accommodation is between ¥4,000 – ¥4,600 a night.  The package price (with admission tickets and free pass to Fuji-Q Highland) is ¥7,800 a day on weekends and ¥5,600 on weekdays for advanced reservation. For on-the-day and peak season booking, the rate goes up to ¥8,100 ~ ¥8,400 a day.


The hotel  run and operated by Fuji Express Co., Ltd. is the largest of all capsule hotels in Japan (Width 120 cm × depth 210 cm × height 120 cm).

“We are opening this hotel because we want to offer comfortable accommodation facilities that  meet the diversified needs of individual travelers visiting Mt. Fuji and Fujikyu Highland from home and abroad,” mentions Fuji Express in its press release.

The facility is located inside a 2-story building with a cabin-like atmosphere and wooden flooring.  A female-exclusive capsule area (66 beds) is on the first floor while the 88 beds on the 2nd floor will be exclusive to male guests. 

Additional facilities include convenience stores, izakaya (Japanese pub), family restaurants, taverns, karaoke, climbing equipment rental shops, etc.  The place is also very close to Fujimaya hot springs via the free bus tour.

Cabin & Lounge Highland Station Inn is running a welcome campaign. Anyone who books by July 14th (Friday) gets a ¥1,000 discount.

Restrictions on use
· Preschoolers not allowed
· Elementary school students need to be accompanied by parents of same gender
· Junior high school students need a written parental consent.

(By car) About 5 minutes from car / Central Expressway Kawaguchiko IC, or about 5 minutes from Tomei Expressway Gotemba IC via Toho Fuji Goko Road Fujiyoshida IC

(By train) Transfer to the Fuji Express line at the Otsuki station on the train / JR Chuo Main Line, about 3 minutes walk from Fujikyu Highland Station
