Sony Xperia Android 7.0 Powered Multi-Touch Projector is coming

By on March 2, 2017

Sony’s Xperia portable projector first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress and again at the CES this year held in Las Vegas, is finally hitting the stores this spring.  Sony’s latest home-friendly device is called  Xperia Touch.

Xperia Touch is a projector type smart product that operates by touching a screen projected on a wall or table.

With Android OS, you can download applications from Google Play and surround the table to play games, watch movies on the screen projected on the wall, as well as enjoy video calls.

Sony’s proprietary liquid crystal display device “SXRD” (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) is mounted and supports projection from 23 inches to 80 inches. In addition, real time detection of 60 frames per second realizes comfortable touch operation without delay. It corresponds to multi-touch of up to 10 points, and can be operated by more than one person.

Apart from being a virtual Android tablet, it is also a speaker so if you’re talking to your folks back home, you can project the screen on a wall just like they’re sitting in front of you.

While pricing for Japan and exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, our European friends will get to buy it first for €1,499 this Spring.  Watch the clip to see how it works.
