Japan’s new luxury train will leave travelers spellbound

By on May 2, 2017

Beginning today, rich travelers who have money to burn will be able to experience true luxury while traveling around the country via the Train Suite Shiki-Shima , JR Higashi’s version of the Majaraja Express, except that, its design is more contemporary.  The man behind its eye-popping artistry is Ken Okuyama, former Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte designer who also helped with GM’s Porsche AG.

The $50M project can accommodate 34 guests in its 10 cars.  It has two glass-walled observation decks offering guests an expansive view of  Japan.

Each two-level deluxe suite is equipped with a private bathroom (shower and toilet) on the lower level, while the upper level is a bedroom for four people.
