Manrikiya Japanese Noodle restaurant

“Irrashaimasse!”

At the Manrikiya noodle shop, customers really feel like they are being welcomed into someone’s warm, homey kitchen.

While noodles and other tasty dishes are filling the open kitchen with steam, staff in colorful headscarves bustle around calling out and delivering orders.

Noodles are the specialty here- either the restaurant’s unique long, thick ones, or the thinner variety. Although a huge bowl of noodles is easily a meal for one, there are many chicken, vegetable, rice and dumpling dishes to create a delicious shared meal.

As soon as it is ready, each dish is delivered piping hot – there is no waiting around in this busy kitchen! Small children receive a bowl and spoon set, and can pick and choose to their heart’s content. If you have finished your noodles but have broth (and an appetite!) left over, just order a noodle refill. The menu has been translated into English, and the prices are very reasonable- this is one dining experience that will not make a big dent in your wallet. After dinner, step out the door on to the lively Azabu Juban shopping street. On a sultry summer evening, there is nothing better than strolling along and eating kaki-gori (shaved ice) to top off your meal.

We have taken most guests here for a fun, casual Japanese dining experience. From young-at-heart Grandma to 11-year-old nephew, the Manrikiya noodle shop has received a very positive “two thumbs up.” Even without guests, when we need our “noodle fix,” we know where we’re heading!
