The outdoor beckons. North Face takes kids trekking in Hokkaido

By on June 13, 2017

When purveyor of American outdoor products, North Face, started the ‘North Face Kids Nature School’ in 2014, it had one purpose – to  nurture a love of nature in children and help them explore the local environment.

“We teach children how to engage with nature and people, how to cherish things that are important for living,” says North Face.

In July, NORTH FACE takes kids on a trekking experience at Shioya, Maruyama, a mountainous area in Hokkaido.  This is the first time for Kids Nature School to be held in Hokkaido.

Kids who want to join will gather at the “Sapporo Factory” in Sapporo city on July 29, to take a dedicated bus bound for Shioya Maruyama in Otaru City.

Shioya Maruyama is a low mountain with an altitude of 629 m and an amazing 360-degree panoramic view overlooking Shakotan, a large mountain resort area, Yoichi, a coastal town with nice beaches, and Japan sea.
