A New York Style Café Whips Over-The-Top Desserts

If you have to create a map of cafés that serve the best desserts in Tokyo, Harajuku will no doubt be on the top of the list.  From fancy crepes to elaborately decorated pancakes, Harajuku cafés and restaurants have practically everything.

One place that sticks to mind is Serendipity 3, a café that started from the basement of a Manhattan building on 98th East street in New York city and made its way to Harajuku in the summer of this year. Serendipity 3 boasts a number of  inventive food combining Japan-only menus with its classic ones.

Its Young Chicken Sandwich, one of the strangest-looking arrangements of chicken chunks sautéed in butter with almonds and served with arugula and mint leaves on toasted Irish soda bread, also happens to be New York families’ favorite.
