The Greatest Showman

By on January 30, 2018

The straighforward musical  film takes a slice of  P.T. Barnum’s life (played by Hugh Jackman), failures and successes and puts it in the spotlight. Barnum was an author, politician, philanthropist, and businessman in the 19th century.

He was the quintessential jack-of-all-trades but master of one. Despite grappling with the death of his father, mixed successes and the pressing demands of providing for his family, Barnum, at age 60, went on to become the greatest showman that ever lived.

Most famous for Ringling Bos. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, an American traveling circus company billed as The Greatest Show on Earth, Barnum was one of the very first circus founders to move his team young enough to be his children,  by train.

With all that’s depressing about the state of the world, The Greatest Showman is an entertaining (great upbeat pop music) film filled with uplifting positive messages about life.  Family moral values and fidelity resonate throughout the film.  Out in Tokyo theatres Feb. 16.  For all ages.
