Recipe - Cheese Wrapped Hot Dogs


Combine the flour, cornmeal and baking powder in a bowl. Cut the butter into small pieces and work into the mixture. Continue until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs them make a hole in the middle.

Pour the milk into the hole and stir until the mixture is moist dough. Place the dough onto a flat surface with a small amount of flour. Roll out the dough into roughly a 12” (30CM) square, then cut this into half’s and finally each half into 3 equal portions to end up with 6!

Place 1 wiener onto each piece if dough. Sprinkle about 2 tbsp. of cheese evenly over the each wiener. Fold the sides over the dough over the wiener and press to make a seal. Arrange the wiener rolls on a greased baking sheet. Pre heat the oven to 425F (220C) and bake for 12-15 minutes.

All-purpose flour 1 1/4 cup 300ml
Yellow cornmeal 1/4 cup 60ml
Baking powder 1 tbsp 15ml
Butter 1/4 cup 75ml
Milk 1/2 cup 125ml
Wieners 6
Grated cheddar cheese
mild or medium
3/4 cup 175ml
